US Executive Order Flexibility Policy

General Rule Flexibility Version 1.0

Executive Order bans all customers who are nationals of Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from travelling to the USA.

The following flexibility will be permitted on all fare types for customers who are nationals of Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen travelling on passports from these countries, ticketed prior to and including 29 January 2017 to travel to/from USA, for travel from the 29 January 2017 up until 29 April 2017 (90 day period the executive order covers).  This information relates specifically to tickets issued on Air New Zealand 086 ticket stock and covers both domestic and international travel.

 

Options for customers are as follows

Defer Travel
Customers ticketed for travel to and from the USA prior to and including 29 January 2017 for travel up until 29 April 2017 may:

Defer Travel to a later Air New Zealand flight in the same cabin of travel without penalty. If travel is only available in a higher cabin, the fare differential will apply.  If the customer reroutes and there are other airlines involved in the ticket, fare difference and service fees will apply.  OAL must be booked in the valid booking class for through fare. If the proposed date of travel is unknown, then the value of the ticket may be held in credit for 12 months from the date of issue or first flown flight.

Change Destination
Customers ticketed for travel to and from the USA prior to and including 29 January 2017 for travel up until 29 April 2017 may change their travel to another Air New Zealand destination without penalty. In this instance any applicable fare differential will apply.

Refund
Customers who no longer wish to travel to and from USA and who hold tickets issued on or prior to 29 January 2017 for travel up until 29 April 2017 may request a refund in full without penalty regardless of fare rules.

Incidental Costs
In all cases incidental costs and penalties such as accommodation and or meals are the customer’s responsibility. Customers should be referred to their travel insurance policy to see if they are covered for any incremental costs.

•    Any incidental costs and penalties such as accommodation etc. will be the customers own responsibility.
•    Customers should be referred to their travel insurance policy to see if they are covered for any incremental costs &/or refund options where they hold a non-refundable fare.

 

Air New Zealand will continue to monitor the situation, please note that this policy and guidelines could change at any time, we will advise of any changes.
