Simpler booking classes for New Zealand domestic sectors

2 January 2018

Effective 16 January 2018, there will be some changes to the booking classes to be used on NZL domestic and Tasman/PI sectors sold as part of long-haul fares from the USA/Canada/Mexico. You can download the new booking class chart here. Please check your CRS/GDS for the latest booking class information.

From North America, we are removing some unnecessary booking class substitutions, so that in most cases agents will be able to apply the same booking class across all NZ sectors of the itinerary.  Agents will have until 15 Jan to ticket any outstanding PNRs that include booking classes that no longer apply (for example H class on domestic NZL sectors for G-type fares).

  • For economy fares from USA/Mexico to New Zealand, the domestic NZL sectors will be booked in the same bookings class as the long-haul sectors.
  • For economy fares from the USA/Mexico to Australia/PI, the Tasman/PI sectors will be booked in the same booking class as the long-haul sectors.
  • For PE and BP fares from USA/Canada/Mexico to Australia/PI, the Tasman/PI sectors will be booked in either the same booking class as the long-haul sectors, or in lower cabins to account for those Tasman/PI flights that don’t have upper cabin (i.e A320 services).
