Associated with the Travel Industry for more than 20 years, first as a tour leader, retail and wholesale agent and then settling into the airline industry with Air New Zealand for the last 13 years, I feel very lucky to have been a part of so many aspects of the trade. Now I turn my attention to the Meetings & Incentives market knowing this channel has had some challenges the past few years but is starting to re-emerge as a market with many opportunities.

Much like the Koru that adorns the Air New Zealand tail, which is a symbol of new beginnings, harmony, growth and life, Incentive travel has found its way back to the corporate culture.

The goal is to create partnerships within the industry to support the growth of the Meetings and Incentive market to New Zealand, Australia and Britain, Air New Zealand’s gateways to North America. Lupe Maake has worked the Meetings and Incentive movements for most of her 20 years with Air New Zealand.

Born in Tonga, educated in New Zealand and living most of her adult life in Southern California, Lupe is well acquainted with the South Pacific and all it has to offer. Her ability to work with accounts to meet and exceed expectations is amazing. Working with a network of people within the Air New Zealand organization, whose only responsibility is meeting the needs of our passengers while traveling, they achieve mini miracles everyday.

Whether it is a group of 10 or 800, Lupe handles each person like a family member which is how they do it in the South Pacific.
