Air New Zealand Checked Baggage Allowance (effective 26 May 2010).
Global Baggage Allowance
Economy: 1 piece up to 23kgs
Premium Economy: 2 pieces up to 23kgs for each piece
Business: 3 pieces up to 23kgs for each piece
Airpoints and Koru Members
Passengers who are Gold and Gold Elite members of Air New Zealand Airpoints Programme or who belong to our Koru programme are able to carry 1 additional piece up to 23kgs.
The maximum number of pieces is 3 pieces up to 23kgs each, additional pieces can be accepted as excess.
Overweight Bags
Bags that weigh up to 32kgs can still be carried but will incur excess charges.
If the bag weighs more than 32kgs the bag will not be carried and the customer will be asked to remove items before the bag is accepted for carriage.
Sporting Allowances – International services only
In addition to checked baggage allowance, a sporting item can be carried as a checked in piece of luggage at 50% of extra bag cost.
Infants and Children
Strollers and car seats will be carried free of charge.
Infants will be entitled to the accompanying adult checked baggage allowance
